Claire Lim

Claire is a Strategy Consultant at Eden Strategy Institute, with a background in law, policy research and marketing. She joins Eden with a passion for digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and social mobility. Before joining Eden, Claire trained and practised as a corporate and commercial lawyer in the UK. She has experience advising on complex legal issues and completing high-value transactions for clients across sectors such as technology, telecommunications, retail, and energy. At her law firm, she led social mobility initiatives to improve accessibility into the legal industry, such as the Social Mobility Business Partnership (SMBP) scheme. For SMBP, she successfully established partnerships with businesses and law firms to organize and fund internships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. She also acted as a mentor to the firm’s pioneer intake of solicitor apprentices. Outside of work, she founded a homeless feeding programme where she played a key role in managing operations and volunteers.

In Malaysia, Claire has worked at the Khazanah Research Institute, a prolific Malaysian think-tank, where she contributed to research and wrote discussion papers on a variety of public policy issues including, digital transformation of the nation, allocation of government grant funding, the state of education technology, and the use of artificial intelligence in the courts. Claire has also worked in the marketing department at Shopee, South East Asia’s leading e-commerce platform, gaining valuable insight into consumer behavior, competition analysis, and the changing landscape of commerce.

Claire holds a Bachelors of Laws (LLB) from the University of Bristol and is a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
